OG Box Office Collection Day 5: Pawan Kalyan’s Biggest Opener Inches Towards ₹150 Crore Despite Monday Dip

Pawan Kalyan’s latest release, They Call Him OG, has stormed the box office since its grand release last Thursday. Directed by Sujeeth and co-starring Emraan Hashmi, the film has already created history as one of the biggest Indian openers worldwide. However, Monday (Day 5) saw an unexpected dip in collections, raising questions about its long-term hold.

They Call Him OG Day 5 Box Office Collection (India)

The film opened on a record-breaking note with ₹63.75 crore on Day 1 (Thursday), marking the highest single-day collection for a Pawan Kalyan film. The momentum continued over the weekend:

  • Day 1 (Thursday): ₹63.75 crore
  • Day 2 (Friday): ₹18.45 crore
  • Day 3 (Saturday): ₹18.50 crore
  • Day 4 (Sunday): ₹18.50 crore
  • Day 5 (Monday): ₹7.5 crore

This brings the film’s five-day domestic total to ₹147.7 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, just shy of the ₹150 crore milestone.

They Call Him OG Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 5

Globally, They Call Him OG continues to shine, crossing the ₹200 crore mark worldwide within just five days. This makes it Pawan Kalyan’s first-ever film to achieve this feat, solidifying its place among the biggest Indian film openers globally.

Budget and Second-Weekend Test

Made on a massive budget of ₹250 crore, the film needs a strong second weekend hold to ensure long-term profitability. While the Telugu version contributes the majority of domestic revenue, the dubbed Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada versions are adding to the tally.

Occupancy Trends (Day 5)

Hindi (2D) occupancy rates on Monday painted a mixed picture:

  • Morning: 5.43%
  • Afternoon: 6.05%
  • Evening: 5.44%
  • Night: 8.22%

The Telugu version remains the key driver of collections, while the Hindi dubbed version continues to perform better than expected.

Competition Ahead

In the Hindi market, They Call Him OG is currently outperforming Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound, but faces fresh competition from Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 and Shashank Khaitan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor), both releasing this Thursday.

Story and Performances

Set against the backdrop of 1990s Mumbai gang wars, They Call Him OG blends high-octane action with an emotional storyline. Pawan Kalyan delivers one of his most powerful performances to date, while Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist has left fans impressed. Directed by Sujeeth, the film’s action choreography and gritty storytelling have become major talking points.

The movie had already built huge buzz pre-release, earning ₹21 crore from paid previews, and while the initial momentum has been phenomenal, sustaining the hype will be key in the coming weeks.
